History of Bullock Lumber Company
Bullock Lumber Co. is your locally family owned and operated lumber and building supply company based in Roxboro, North Carolina. Bullock Lumber Co. opened our doors in 1909. William C. Watkins of Vance County and William C. Bullock of Granville County came to Roxboro and opened Watkins & Bullock on Lamar Street. In the mid-1920's, the original Lumber Company building burned. Eventually the Company's office would be located on the corner of Court-Lamar and remain so until 1963.
W.C. Bullock purchased the entire business from the Watkins estate and his son, John, moved the business to its present location on North Main Street in 1963 where it has been in operation up to the present day. The current owner, John Bullock, is the 4th generation of the Bullock family to operate Bullock Lumber Co. The Bullock family has been providing lumber and contractor supplies to the Roxboro, North Carolina area for over 100 years; this is something that we take pride in and are honored to be providing the current generation with service as well.
Customer service is our number one goal and we have achieved that goal for 100 years!
